Arc'teryx Atom LT is a padded jacket for men, good to carry both as an outer layer and as a second layer with a shell on top. Atom LT exploits the potential of synthetic fibers. Thanks to the padding in Coreloft, this jacket acquires excellent thermal capacity. On the sides and under the armpits, however, we find the inserts in Polartec Power Stretch to increase comfort (it is indeed a very elastic fabric) but also to increase the breathability of the head and adjust the internal temperature during an effort. Another point in favor of synthetic fibers is to be permeable to air but not to wind. At the same time, however, these maintain their thermal capacities even when they are wet, which is not the case in natural feather quilts. The outer fabric is in taffeta nylon, an extremely light and compressible fabric. You will feel like you have a sleeping bag on you, without feeling the weight. The DWR treatment guarantees a good water repellency to the garment. Compress your jacket inside one of its pockets and put it inside your backpack, it will take up very little space.
